Singing doesn't always come easily to children but Perform Plus's choice of catchy upbeat songs mean every session finishes on a high. Being able to express yourself confidently with music is a wonderful gift and many children have no idea they have such a talent until they start.

Music call
The Music call is lead by a professional Musical Director from the piano and includes the following:
Vocal warm-up - Using exercises developed and used in West End theatres, the warm-up is designed to increase the flexibility of the vocal chords, enhance tonal range and improve articulation and projection while maintaining good technique;
Technical work - A short section preparing the children for the specific requirements of the material to be covered. These might include harmony work, technical issues or stylistic concerns.
New material - The main part of the session is concerned with learning the songs which will be part of the finished performance. Starting with the basic notes and rhythm, the Musical Director will then progress to more detailed performance notes on dynamics and interpretation. The small groups allow most children to have solo or featured roles if they wish to;
Recap and consolidation - A final section during which the children sing through what they have learned this week and previously.
